How fast does VORVOA actually dry?
Under 60 seconds in sun and breeze — the conditions you're actually in. The PE fiber doesn't absorb water at the fiber level, so there's nothing to evaporate. Water beads on contact and sheds under its own weight. Standard nylon trunks retain water for 20 to 40 minutes because the fiber absorbs it. VORVOA doesn't.
What makes PE fiber different from recycled polyester?
Polyester — recycled or otherwise — is hydrophilic. It absorbs water into the fiber structure. Polyethylene is inherently hydrophobic at the molecular level. The same polymer class as Dyneema climbing cord and Sheertex tights. No coating required. The repellency is structural, not a finish that washes off over time.
Why no liner?
A liner retains more water than the outer fabric and is the primary reason trunks feel heavy after swimming. VORVOA uses a double-layer offset weave that provides opacity without a separate liner layer. Less material, less weight, faster dry time. Liner-free is a performance decision, not a cost cut.
Is the dry time independently validated?
Yes. Every production batch is tested against standardized dry-time protocols before it ships. The same methodology used in SRTX Watertex testing, which validated 60% less water retention using the same PE fiber approach. Results are available on request. We don't publish a claim we can't back with a number.
Are chemicals used to achieve the water repellency?
No. There are no DWR (durable water repellent) coatings, PFAS chemicals, or surface treatments. The superhydrophobic properties come from the fiber architecture itself — lotus-effect micro-nano surface structure at the fiber level. It's chlorine-stable and won't degrade with washing.
